Krabu Grupp has expanded their FullStack+ approach by adding legal support services to it. In November 2018, a lawyer joined us for the field of data protection and legislation in information technology.

Since digital transformation processes often require the resources and expertise of associated fields, then Krabu Grupp works with a variety of professionals who support the company’s core value chain. In case the need for some kind of competence becomes relatively frequent or becomes constant, the company includes it into its own chain by creating a corresponding competence. These competencies may then evolve to a service, complementing the range of the company’s business portfolio. This is how a lawyer who is willing to share her experience with other IT-related companies was employed.

“It all started with data protection and the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force in 2018. Since we helped our customers adapt their systems to the new requirements, we often encountered the need to resolve legal issues. The acquired competence became the basis for a study program dedidated to personal data processing. Some customers turned to us with a wish to order data protection officer services. So, another field that supports our value chain was created,” said Kati Krabu, Member of the Board of Krabu Grupp.

“Strong legal preparation helps reduce business risks for companies. Our goal is to help companies in different sectors align their activities with legislation regulating data protection and security. Besides this, there is still much to be done. Therefore, our activities are not limited to these fields, but we also help resolve other legal issues that arise in the information technology field. As legal competence in IT law is still rare in Estonia, we focus primarily on this area,” said Kristina Viznovitš, the Lawyer of Krabu Grupp.

Kristina has graduated from the University of Tartu in the field of IT legislation and has carried out several trainings on the protection of personal data, as well as helped to prepare and bring the documents of the first ten clients into accordance with the legal requirements. In the future, the company plans to expand its sphere of legal services as interest in it is increasing.

Krabu Grupp is an Estonian capital based company established in 2012. The cornerstone of the company’s activity is a comprehensive value chain that connects a number of interrelated fields. The high level of synergies between the elements of the value chain gave the company an opportunity to develop a FullStack+approach, where the works may include analysis and development of IT and communications solutions, as well as accompanying services that are not directly related to IT.
